Pakistan reiterates support for Palestine people

ISLAMABAD, Jun 06 (APP): Minister for overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Chaudhry Salik Hussain has reiterated support of the government and people of Pakistan for the Palestinian people.
The support was extended at an event titled ‘International Solidarity Meeting with the Palestinian Labor and people’ organized under the auspices of Arab Labor organization at Geneva, said a press release.
Hussain strongly condemned the atrocities and use of force against the unarmed civilians including children, women and elderly people in Gaza.
He urged the global community to provide immediate financial, medical, and food assistance to the people of Palestine.
The minister also demanded for immediate action by the United Nations and ILO to stop the massacre and restoration of normal civic life.
The meeting was also attended by ministers and senior dignitaries of ILO member states in large number.
Minister for Labour Palestine Dr. Anaas Atari along with senior leadership of Arab states, Director General ILO and Secretary-General of International Trade Union Confederation also attended the meeting. They also condemned the genocide of Palestinian people including children and women.
Meanwhile, Minister for overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development also held a meeting with Secretary-General of International Trade Union Confederation, Luc Triangle in Geneva.
The Minister emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to international labor standards and the country’s efforts under the Decent Work Country Program, aiming to improve labor conditions in line with UN SDGs.
Hussain also emphasized Pakistan’s focus on strengthening protections for migrant workers and enhancing social protection systems.
On both occasions, the Minister was accompanied by Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN in Geneva Ambassador Bilal Ahmad, Joint Secretary OPHRD Suleman Ghani, Secretary Workers Welfare Fund Zulfiqar Ahmed and other officials from Pakistan.
