Pakistan participates in 8th Moscow Format Consultations on Afghanistan

MOSCOW, Oct 5 (APP): The 8th meeting of the Moscow Format Consultations on Afghanistan commenced in Moscow on Monday, bringing together Afghanistan and countries of the region to discuss the situation in Afghanistan and issues of regional concern.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov attended the inaugural session and addressed the participating delegations.
Pakistan is represented by a high-level delegation led by Ambassador Mohammad Sadiq, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister/Special Representative for Afghanistan (SAPM/SRA).
The delegation also included Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the Russian Federation, and Ambassador Ubaid-ur-Rehman Nizamani, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Afghanistan, along with other senior officials.
The consultations are focusing on regional peace and security, counter-terrorism, economic cooperation and connectivity, as well as continued engagement with Afghanistan.
