Pakistan invites Chinese pharmaceutical firms to Karachi Investment Conference

BEIJING, June 18 (APP):Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi, hosted a high-level delegation comprising representatives of 40 leading Chinese pharmaceutical, biotechnology and healthcare companies at the Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing on Thursday.
The delegation, led by the China Overseas Development Association, was briefed on investment opportunities in Pakistan ahead of the 6th Pakistan-China B2B Investment Conference on Pharmaceuticals, Biotechnology and Healthcare, scheduled to be held in Karachi on July 17-18, 2026.
Addressing the participants, Ambassador Hashmi highlighted Pakistan’s growing attractiveness as an investment destination and invited Chinese enterprises to participate in the Karachi conference, emphasizing opportunities for industrial cooperation, joint ventures and technology transfer.
A detailed presentation was delivered by Trade and Investment Attaché Ayaz Muhammad, who outlined the potential of Pakistan’s pharmaceutical sector, valued at approximately US$4 billion and growing at an annual rate of 10-12 percent.
The briefing also encouraged mutually beneficial partnerships between Pakistani and Chinese companies in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and healthcare, with a focus on expanding investment, local production and technology collaboration.
