Pakistan intend to bring latest technology: Anusha Rehman

ISLAMABAD, Nov 25 (APP): Minister of State for Information Technology and Telecommunication (IT&T), Anusha Rahman Wednesday said that Pakistan intended to bring latest technology in the country.
Talking to three members GSMA delegation led by Spectrum Director Asia Pacific, Chris Zull who called on the Minister here, she said that our Information Communication Technology sector was evolving magnificently day by day, said a press release issued here.
She said that “we have a large population, diverse market with dynamic youth which indicates the growing appetite of more spectrum for 3G/4G services.”
“It’s our ardent desire that spectrum strategy is predictable for
the benefit of investment decisions” Anusha Rehman added.
She said that we had a special focus on addressing “spectrum
issues” in our new telecom policy which was in the offing.
Our telecom policy would entail spectrum refarming, spectrum
trading, over the top services and complete mechanism to address all
telecom related issues adequately.
The Minister said “we are also in the process of resolving the tax
concerns of the telecom industry and we have taken up this issue with Chairman FBR for early resolution.”
GSMA delegation appreciated the development of Pakistan in the telecom
sector particularly the efforts in unlocking the potential of the
Digital Economy.
Member Telecom Mudassar Hussain and Chairman Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), Syed Ismail Shah were also
present in the meeting.
