ISLAMABAD, March 12 (APP):A delegation from Turkmenistan led by its Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rashid Meredov Tuesday called on Minister for Finance Asad Umar and discussed the issues of mutual interest in trade and economy.

The finance minister briefed the delegation about the economic priorities of the present government which are geared toward people centric economic growth and provision of social services to all citizens across the country, a finance ministry statement said.

He informed that Pakistan strongly believed in promoting regional economic integration.
He said it was the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan to develop regional economic integration which was highly essential for the social and economic prosperity of the region.

The finance minister highlighted the benefits of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, saying that Pakistan would become the hub of economic activities once the project was completed. Pakistan also offered training facilities for the banks from Turkmenistan, he added.

The meeting also underscored the need for strengthening financial linkages between the two countries as well as enhancing cooperation against money laundering activities.

It was also agreed to take steps for the practical implementation of Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India Pipeline project.
