Pakistan embassy contributing in popularity of cricket in France: Envoy

ISLAMABAD, Oct 1 (APP):After the launch of the Jinnah Trophy with the support of the Embassy of Pakistan in 2015, cricket was increasingly becoming popular in France and more and more young French nationals have started showing keen interest in this game.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to France Moin ul Haque said this while addressing the prize distribution ceremony held in the French town of Bois de Vincennes, located in the suburb of Paris on Sunday after conclusion of Jinnah Cricket Championship trophy matches, a message received here from Paris on Monday said.
The elegant ceremony was attended by Kazi Imtiaz Hossain, Ambassador of Bangladesh, Prebagarane Balane the President of France Cricket, diplomats from the cricket-playing nations, senior officials from the French Ministry of Sports and Olympic Committee and a large number of cricket fans.
The ambassador of Pakistan assured Embassy’s continued support for organized Jinnah Trophy in the future.
Later Ambassador distributed the trophy and prizes to the winning team. In all 16 teams participated in the Jinnah Champions Trophy from all over France.
Jinnah Championship Trophy started four years ago has now become the biggest and most prestigious tournament in cricket circle of France.
