Pakistan desires peaceful neighborhood, regional peace: Qureshi

ISLAMABAD, Feb 25 (APP):Minister for Foreign Affairs Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi Monday said that despite baseless allegations and aggressive rhetoric from India after Pulwama incident, Pakistan has offered cooperation for investigation.
The foreign minister said this during conversation with German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas whom he telephones to discuss the evolving regional situation, said a Foreign Office statement.The two foreign ministers expressed satisfaction at the current level of bilateral relations and agreed to translate the existing friendship and mutual goodwill into a strong political and economic partnership.
The foreign minister briefed his German counterpart on the evolving situation after the Pulwama incident and said that Pakistan had asked India to share any actionable evidence in this regard.
“Pakistan desires a peaceful neighbourhood and remains committed to peace and stability in the region,” he remarked.
Foreign Minister Qureshi also highlighted the human rights violations by the security forces in the Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK) against Kashmiris in the aftermath of the Pulwama incident.
The German foreign minister appreciated Pakistan’s overtures and stressed upon the need to preserve peace and stability in the region.
The two foreign ministers agreed to continue consultations on matters of mutual importance.
