ISLAMABAD, Feb 2 (APP):The federal government has announced a nationwide public holiday on Thursday, February 5, 2026, to mark Kashmir Solidarity Day.
The decision applies across the country and aims to observe the day in support of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
According to a press release issued by the Cabinet Division in Islamabad, the holiday has been declared in line with an earlier circular issued by the Cabinet Secretariat. All public and private offices, educational institutions, and most businesses will remain closed on the day.
The government has also directed that a one-minute silence will be observed at 10:00 am throughout the country. The silence will be held to remember Kashmiris who lost their lives.
Kashmir Solidarity Day is observed every year to reaffirm Pakistan’s position on the Kashmir issue and to express support for the people of the region. Rallies, seminars, and special programs are usually held across the country to mark the day.
