ISLAMABAD, Dec 09 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Tuesday, reiterated that Pakistan had always been desirous of regional and international peace and peaceful co-existence, besides reiterated the unflinching resolve to further making its defence strong and firm.
Commending Pakistan Navy on historic ‘Hangor Day’, being commemorated on December 9, he said on this day in 1971 war, the officers and personnel of Pakistan Navy ship Hangor, with a display of marvelous performance and action, made the country’s defence invincible. The prime minister said the Pakistan Navy had always foiled the timid enemy’s hidden moves with valour and unprecedented professionalism, raising esteem of the country.
‘With display of bravery and valour, the officers had made the country’s maritime defence formidable forever in the history,’ PM Office Media Wing, in a press release, quoted the prime minister as saying.
He further said the day was sufficient as reminder to the enemy that the defence of the country’s maritime frontiers had been in the firm hands.
