FAISALABAD, Oct 28 (APP): State Minister for Water and Power
Chaudhry Abid Sher Ali Friday said the incumbent government, under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, is implementing a comprehensive plan to transform Pakistan into a developed and prosperous country.
Addressing a laptop distribution ceremony at the National Textile University (NTU), Faisalabad, the minister said that youths were the future of Pakistan. Therefore, the government had initiated a number of projects for them including provision of scholarships, free laptops, internship programs, etc.
He said that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was a significant and vibrant project of the PML-N government which would change the destiny of the nation by providing ample job opportunities for the youth.
He said CPEC project would not only bring all provinces closer but also help in promotion of industrial sector on modern scientific lines.
He said distribution of laptops was a hallmark of the government. In European states, the government provides jobs to its educated youths and we are also striving to introduce this salient feature in Pakistan.
He said the prime minister had started National Health Program under which the poor are being provided financial assistance of Rs 100,000 to Rs 500,000 for treatment.
The Punjab government has also provided job opportunities to about 200,000 teachers strictly on merit, he added.
The minister said the government had restored law and order in the country to a great extent and now foreign investors are looking towards Pakistan for investment in various projects.
Earlier, Rector NTU Prof Dr Tanveer Hussain presented welcome address and highlighted the performance of the university.
Later, the minister distributed laptops among the position-holder students of the NTU.
