Pak HC organizes mango festival in Singapore to mark 60th years of diplomatic relations
ISLAMABAD, Aug 8 (APP):Pakistan High Commission in Singapore organized a ‘Mango Festival’ showcasing Pakistan’s world-renowned mangoes, in a series of events commemorating the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Singapore.
Zhulkarnain Abdul Rahim, Singapore’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, was the guest of honour at the event. The event brought together government officials, business community, diplomats, media representatives, and Pakistani-Singaporean community to celebrate Pakistan’s rich agricultural heritage, a press release on Saturday said.
The festival featured a curated menu using Pakistan’s premium mango varieties, including the renowned Chaunsa and Sensation, offering guests the opportunity to experience the exceptional taste, aroma, and quality of Pakistani mangoes.
Addressing the gathering, High Commissioner of Pakistan to Singapore Rabia Shafiq said they
organized such events to familiarize Singaporeans to Pakistan’s diversity and hospitality and deepen connections between people, particularly as we celebrate 60th years of Pakistan-Singapore ties.
She further emphasized that the festival aimed to promote a harmonious blend of Pakistan’s culture, commerce, and cuisine.
A short video, Salam Pakistan, was screened, showcasing Pakistan’s breathtaking landscapes, tourist attractions, and rich cultural heritage.
“The festival served as an effective platform to promote Pakistan’s agricultural exports, showcase the country’s premium mangoes to the Singaporean market, and highlight the potential for expanding bilateral trade. It also celebrated the enduring partnership and friendship between Pakistan and Singapore, built over six decades of diplomatic relations,” it was further added.
