ISLAMABAD, Jun 19 (APP):A grand search and combing operation was carried out on Thursday in multiple areas falling under the jurisdiction of Industrial Area Police Station, Secretariat Police Station, and Bani Gala Police Station, as part of efforts to curb criminal activities in the capital.
An official told APP that the operation was conducted under the supervision of Zonal Superintendents of Police (SPs), with female police personnel also taking part. Before the operation, police personnel were briefed in detail about the objectives and procedures of the operation.

He said a total of 171 individuals were verified during the operation, while 188 households and 15 shops were checked by the police teams.
He said law enforcement officials also inspected 108 motorcycles and 52 vehicles to ensure compliance with legal requirements and to detect any irregularities.
He said 15 suspicious individuals were shifted to the police station for further questioning. During the operation, two suspects involved in drug peddling were arrested, and 2,000 grams of heroin along with 60 litres of liquor were recovered.
He said the primary aim of the operation was to eliminate criminal elements and ensure peace and security in the region.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi had issued special directions to conduct grand search operations across the district to root out crime.
He appealed to the citizens to cooperate with police personnel during checking and to report any suspicious activity in their surroundings. “The safety and security of the public remains our top priority,” he added.
