MULTAN, Oct 03 (APP):Seed Cotton (Phutti) equivalent to over three million (3,044,409) bales have reached ginning factories across Pakistan till September 30,2025, registering an increase of 49.24 percent as compared to corresponding period of last year.
According to a fortnightly report of Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA) issued to the media on Friday, over 2.6 million (2,686,307) bales have undergone the ginning process.
Cotton arrivals in Punjab were recorded 1,136,439 bales registering an increase of 56.37 percent as compared to the corresponding period of last year when arrivals were recorded 726,767 bales.
Sindh generated 1,907,970 bales registering an increase of 45.29 percent as compared to corresponding period of last year when arrivals were recorded 1,313,196 bales.Arrivals in Baluchistan were recorded at 112,200 bales.
Exporters/traders bought 94800 cotton bales, while textile sector bought total 2,409,678 bales. Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) didn’t procure cotton in 20225,26, says the report.
As many as 539,931 unsold bales stock was present and a total of 501 ginning factories were operational in the country.
