FAISALABAD, Jan 20 (APP):1,934 Government College University Faisalabad (GCUF) students were given laptops under the Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme to promote digital learning and empower youth through technology.
A dignified ceremony was held in this regard, which was graced by Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination Senator Rana Sanaullah Khan as a chief guest.
Addressing the gathering, the Federal Minister said the present era was defined by technology and artificial intelligence, and the government’s foremost priority was to equip the younger generation with modern skills to meet contemporary challenges.
He said educated and talented youth were the nation’s most valuable asset and that the government was committed to their welfare and economic empowerment, urging students to focus on national progress and not be misled by misinformation.
Vice Chancellor GC University Faisalabad Prof Dr Rauf -i-Azam, while addressing the ceremony, appreciated the Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme and the Punjab Chief Minister’s Scholarship Scheme, terming them reflective of transparency, merit and educational justice.
He said the provision of laptops and scholarships on merit would encourage students to pursue higher education, research and innovation.
Dr Azam added that such initiatives would play a significant role in strengthening Pakistan’s educational and economic foundations.
Members of parliament, distinguished members of the university syndicate, representatives of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) were also present.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Rauf Azam, along with the chief guest Senator Rana Sanaullah Khan, distributed laptops among the students.
