Oil rendering unit fined over violations

LAYYAH, Jan 27 (APP):The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) South Punjab has taken decisive action against food safety
violations, imposing a fine of Rs 200,000 on an oil rendering unit during inspections
in the district.
According to the PFA spokesperson, food safety teams conducted operations in Chak-91 and
Shaheed Chowk of Karor Lal Esan tehsil, where multiple violations of the Punjab Food Authority Act
were identified.
As a result, the oil rendering unit was penalized with a Rs 200,000 fine.
During the operation, officials recovered 115 kilograms of adulterated sweet from a separate unit.
The substandard product was destroyed on the spot, and a case was registered against the owner.
