OIC UNA greets Pakistan on 75th independence anniversary

ISLAMABAD, Aug 15 (APP): The Union of OIC News Agencies (UNA) on Monday extended greetings to Pakistan as the counrty celebrated its 75th anniversary of independence on Sunday.

The UNA, a body of the news agencies of the Organziation of Islamaic Cooperation (OIC) countries joined the world to greet the people and government of Pakistan on the diamond jubilee celebrations of the country’s independence.

“The Union of OIC News Agencies (UNA) Congratulates the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on the occasion of the 75th Anniversary of the Independence,” the UNA OIC said on its official Twitter handle.

The UNA, an OIC specialized institution, was set up in pursuance of resolution No.6/3- adopted by the 3rd Islamic Conference of Foreign Ministers, held in Jeddah in March 1972, following a prior decision taken by the Islamic Conference in Karachi, in 1970.  

The Union’s objectoive is to develop close and better relations between member states in the field of information and promote contacts and technical cooperation between the news agencies of member states.
