OGRA, Wafi Energy hold safety seminar to promote best practices in Pakistan’s oil sector
ISLAMABAD, Jul 23 (APP):The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), in collaboration with Wafi Energy Pakistan Limited, organised a safety seminar to reinforce operational safety, strengthen regulatory cooperation, and promote the adoption of international best practices across Pakistan’s oil supply chain.
The seminar brought together senior government officials, regulators, industry leaders, and technical experts to discuss emerging safety challenges and opportunities for collaboration.
The event was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division), the Department of Explosives, OGRA, Wafi Energy Pakistan Limited, Secretary General OCAC and other stakeholders from the downstream petroleum sector.
Discussions focused on improving operational safety through stronger governance, technological innovation, and the sharing of global expertise. During the seminar, Wafi Energy Pakistan shared insights from its global operations, highlighting internationally recognized safety standards, operational excellence frameworks, and the use of digital technologies to improve safety performance, transparency, and risk management across fuel supply operations.
Speaking on the occasion, Shahzad Iqbal, Member Gas OGRA, said: “Safety and transparency are shared priorities across the oil sector, and forums like this help the industry learn from one another and raise standards together.
