ISLAMABAD, Oct 20 (APP): Nutri-Connect 2025 –3rd International PNDS Nutrition Conference concluded on Monday with a dynamic closing ceremony celebrating research excellence, innovation, and the growing synergy between clinical and public health nutrition in Pakistan.
Organized by the Pakistan Nutrition and Dietetic Society (PNDS),in collaboration with Hamdard University Islamabad’ campus, the three-day event brought together 300 national and international experts, practitioners, researchers, and students under the theme “Bridging the Gap Between Clinical and Public Health Nutrition, said a press release.

The conference served as a platform for sharing scientific evidence, innovative practices, and strategies to enhance nutrition leadership and capacity development across disciplines.
The closing session featured a keynote address by Mary Easaw, Chief Dietitian, National Heart Institute, Malaysia, on “Empowering Nutrition Leaders: Effective Health Communication and Entrepreneurship.” She highlighted the pivotal role of leadership, innovation, and communication in elevating the influence and visibility of nutrition professionals in healthcare systems and communities.
Highlights of the ceremony included a celebration of research and innovation, featuring awards for outstanding oral and poster research presentations, along with recipe innovation and infographic design competitions. A major highlight was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between PNDS and Hamdard University Islamabad — a strategic initiative aimed at fostering academic collaboration, advancing research, and strengthening professional capacity in nutrition across Pakistan.
In his closing remarks, Mark Hollingsworth, Chief Executive Officer, The Nutrition Society (UK), commended PNDS for its continued progress and professionalism. Reflecting on his participation in all three PNDS conferences, he noted, “Each year, I witness remarkable growth in PNDS’s initiatives, engagement, and impact. The Society’s evolving leadership reflects its dedication to excellence and its vision for a stronger, more connected nutrition community.”
Delivering the vote of thanks, Ms. Fayza Khan, General Secretary, PNDS, reaffirmed PNDS’s long-standing commitment to advancing nutrition support, ethical practice, and professional excellence in Pakistan. She emphasized that PNDS places strong focus on transparency, integrity, and ethical collaboration when engaging with the private sector, academia, policy makers, and non-profit organizations.
She added that PNDS remains independent in all its scientific and professional activities, ensuring that no external supporter or sponsor influences its decisions, programs, or scientific content.
Rabia Anwer, President,Pnds also reiterated PNDS’s position that the Society does not endorse any specific products and services. Ms.Khan highlighted that this commitment to ethical conduct and independence is fundamental to maintaining the Society’s credibility and upholding the trust of its members, partners, and the broader health community.
The conference concluded with a renewed commitment to evidence-based practice, cross-sector collaboration, and the shared goal of improving population health through integrated nutrition care.
