ISLAMABAD, Feb 17 (APP):The National University of Modern Languages (NUML) marked a significant milestone in the promotion of sports and student well-being with the inauguration of its newly constructed state-of-the-Art Padel Courts Complex.
The facility was formally inaugurated by the Rector NUML, Major General Shahid Mahmood Kayani, HI (M) (retd).
The inauguration ceremony was graced by renowned Pakistani national cricketer Amir Jamal and NUML alumna and Olympian shooter Kashmala Talat. Director General NUML, Brigadier Muhammad Rafiq Khan, senior university officials, faculty members, students, and sports achievers of NUML were also present on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, the Rector highlighted the vital role of sports in youth development and termed the inauguration of the Padel Courts Complex as a landmark achievement.
Emphasizing holistic development, he remarked, “A healthy mind resides in a healthy body,” and encouraged students to actively participate in sports alongside their academic pursuits. He noted that sports serve as an effective means to reduce stress, build discipline, and foster teamwork.
The Rector further underscored the importance of spiritual strength, advanced language proficiency, and artificial intelligence skills, urging students to continuously enhance these competencies to excel in their professional and personal lives.
In their remarks, cricketer Amir Jamal and Olympian Kashmala Talat lauded NUML’s consistent efforts in promoting sports culture and providing sports facilities for students. They appreciated the university’s vision of nurturing well-rounded individuals through a balanced focus on academics, sports, and personal growth.
NUML’s sports achievers were also present at the ceremony, proudly showcasing their trophies and accomplishments, reflecting the university’s growing stature in inter-university and national sports arenas.
The newly inaugurated Padel Courts Complex is expected to further strengthen NUML’s sports infrastructure and reinforce its commitment to student wellness, excellence, and holistic education.
