NPO to hold GAP workshop in first week of November

ISLAMABAD, Oct 30 (APP): A comprehensive e-learning workshop
on Good Agricultural Practice (GAP) for Greater Market Access will
be held here from November 4 to 6.
The workshop is being organized with an aim to enhance participants
understanding of the benefits and importance of GAP for increasing
access of agricultural-food products to international markets.
Experts from various world countries are scheduled to share
their experiences with the participants of the course and help them
understand the latest trends in this particular field.
The workshop has been organized by National Productivity
Organization Pakistan (NPO) in collaboration with Asian Productivity
Organization Japan which is targeted to familiarize participants
with the GAP concept, adoption process, and certification
methodology.
This moot would also review the status and procedures for
benchmarking of National GAP with other internationally recognized
GAP standard.
The official sources at NPO said that general concepts and
basic requirements of GAP systems would be discussed in detail.
The experts would share their knowledge on scope and trends in
implementation of GAP in Cambodia, GAP and GLOBALGAP and their
importance in the global trade in agri-food products as well as
issues and challenges in GAP adoption.
They are also scheduled to discuss support systems for the
dissemination and sustainability of GAP implementation,
Benchmarking national GAP schemes against GLOBALGAP and GLOBALGAP
implementation, certification, and key success factors.
