ISLAMABAD, Sept 8 (APP): Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rashid Thursday informed the Senate that no notified Katchi Abadi (slum) around Sibbi Railway Station had been demolished.
Responding to a matter of public importance taken up by Senator Dr Jahanzeb Jamaldini, the minister said only illegal encroachments inside the Railways Colony had been demolished.
The dwellers of the colony were confronting various problems due to those encroachments, he added.
To another point of public importance raised by Dr Jamaldin about irregularities and non-observance of quota in recent appointments in PTV, the minister said those appointments were made according to policy and Balochistan’s quota in it was five per cent.
He said presently 5.3 per cent people from Balochistan were working in Pakistan Television. People from Balochistan would be recruited according to their quota in future, he added.
