Allegations against PM are baseless; references will provide opportunity to prove innocence

ISLAMABAD, June 25 (APP): Minister for Commerce Khurram Dastgir
Khan Saturday said despite outcome of British referendum to leave
EU there would no negative impact on Pakistani exports to Britain
under Generalised Scheme of Preferences ( GSP-Plus).

The minister, in a statement, asked Pakistani exporters to continue their exports to Britain as there was no apprehension of UK withdrawing GSP Plus status for Pakistan.

He said the ministries of Commerce and Foreign Affairs were
in constant touch with Pakistan High Commission in London to get
the latest updates on the situation arising out of the referendum.

The Ministry of Commerce would also approach its British counterpart to seek policy clarifications, he added.

Meanwhile, a high level meeting at the Commerce Ministry has been convened next week to formulate Pakistan’s trade strategy in the wake of British decision to quit the European Union.
