ISLAMABAD, May 28 (APP):Saudi authorities have reported no food poisoning cases during Hajj 1447 AH as more than 29,000 food safety inspections were carried out across Makkah and the holy sites to protect the pilgrims.
According to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), extensive inspection campaigns covered catering kitchens, food establishments, central markets and storage facilities during the Hajj.
More than 5,000 food samples were tested through mobile and fixed laboratories to ensure food quality and health standards in areas serving pilgrims.
SPA told APP that field monitoring operations were supported by five mobile laboratories, 10 rapid testing devices and nearly 40 inspection vehicles deployed across crowded pilgrim zones.
Authorities intensified cleanliness, sanitation and food monitoring campaigns during the “Days of Tashreeq” in Mina to maintain public health and environmental safety.
Inspection and municipal teams continue round-the-clock monitoring operations to ensure safe food services and a healthy environment for pilgrims performing Hajj rituals.
