ISLAMABAD, Apr 7 (APP):The government has removed the motorcycle transfer fee and announced 24-hour service in Islamabad to help people benefit from the petrol subsidy.
Citizens can now transfer bike ownership at zero cost, with extra counters set up to handle applications, said the spokesman of Excise Department on Tuesday.
The Excise Department has taken steps to ensure that relief measures reach the public.
Officials said the decision aims to support motorcycle owners seeking to register their vehicles in their own names to qualify for the subsidy.
According to the Director General Excise, citizens can visit the Excise Office in Islamabad and transfer ownership of their motorcycles without paying any fee. The move is expected to encourage people to complete registration and documentation.
To manage the expected increase in visitors, the department has extended office hours. The Excise Office will remain open 24 hours to facilitate applicants.
Additional counters have also been set up to process requests. Staff has been assigned to assist citizens and complete transfers without delay.
Officials said the initiative will help more people access the petrol subsidy by removing cost barriers and simplifying the transfer process. The department has advised citizens to bring required documents to avoid delays.
The decision is part of ongoing efforts to improve service delivery and ensure that government relief measures are accessible to eligible individuals.
