No compromise to be made on interests of Balochistan people: CM Bugti

QUETTA, Jan 21 (APP):Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Wednesday said that no compromise would be made on the interests of Balochistan people, the process of reforms to be continued for progress of the province.
He said that  Balochistan has an annual budget of about Rs1,000 billion, of which about 80 percent is spent on non-development expenses.
He said this on social networking site X.  The Chief Minister said that a large part of the non-development budget is spent on salaries and pensions of about 250,000 government employees.
He mentioned that only Rs200 billion is available for the welfare and development of the 13 million people of the province,
“In the last two years, several obsolete and ineffective government offices have been closed to correct the unbalanced system”, he noted.
He maintained that inactive departments like Zakat, Religious Affairs and Civil Defense have been abolished and eight thousand unnecessary government posts have been eliminated.
The CM noted that strict action has been taken against absent government employees indiscriminately; saying that the journey of reforms is not yet complete, but pressure, protests or blackmail could not stop us from protecting the rights of the people.
“I will not compromise on the interests of the people of Balochistan, the process of reforms will be continued for progress of the province”, he added.
