ISLAMABAD, May 6 (APP):Analyst Rasheed Safi on Wednesday said Pakistan will not compromise on its security, sovereignty, and national dignity.
He said the country’s Armed Forces remain ready to respond to any threat, while the public continues to stand with them in the current regional situation.
Talking to APP, Safi said the country faces both internal and external challenges, but national unity and the role of state institutions have helped maintain stability.
He said attempts to spread fear and unrest have failed as the public has responded with unity on every occasion.
He said the Armed Forces have continued to protect the country during difficult times and have met public expectations.
He added that the defence of the country’s territory and core interests remains a top priority.
Safi stressed the need for a common national approach on security matters.
He said political and social differences should not affect decisions related to national defence.
According to him, a clear and united stance helps prevent any wrong assessment by opponents.
He said the people have strong trust in the Armed Forces, calling this trust a key source of strength for the country.
He added that Pakistan supports peace but will respond without delay if faced with any aggression.
Referring to counter-terrorism efforts, Safi said security forces are carrying out ongoing operations against militant groups and their networks.
He said these actions are aimed at maintaining stability in the region.
He also pointed out that some elements are supporting activities that disturb peace, which affects the overall situation in the region.
He said the state continues to act against such threats through coordinated efforts.
Safi referred to the recent Corps Commanders’ Conference, saying it highlighted the country’s efforts in the fight against terrorism.
He said the forum made it clear that there would be no compromise on national security.
He concluded that claims made against Pakistan cannot change the facts.
He said the global community is aware of Pakistan’s role and efforts in countering terrorism and maintaining regional stability.
