ISLAMABAD, Feb 01 (APP): Following the directives of Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan the National Highway Authority (NHA) has decided to regulate commercial activities alongside of National Highways across the country.
In a strategic move to increase revenue and ensure transparency the NHA has invited bids to outsource Right of Ways (ROW) which will include the collection of NOC fees and annual rentals from hotels, petrol pumps and other entities, said a press release.
This initiative aims to foster public-private partnerships, creating new employment and business opportunities. The outsourcing process will strictly adhere to “PPRA Rules.” Key regions including Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, Quetta, Hyderabad, Lasbela, Multan, Bhakar, D.G. Khan, Batkhela, Abbottabad, Kohat, Rahim Yar Khan and others along highways N-5 to N-80 will be in this list.
As per details advertisements of NHA eligible firms with an annual net worth of PKR 300 million are invited to participate with financial bids scheduled to open on February 25, 2026. This step aligns with Federal Minister Abdul Aleem Khan’s vision to transform NHA into a self-sustaining entity, reducing the burden on the national exchequer.
