NHA building many highways, motorways in Balochistan

ISLAMABAD, April 11 (APP):National Highway Authority (NHA) has been striving to construct network of highways and motorways in Balochistan to ensure rapid development in the province.
An NHA official Thursday told APP, he said for dualization and improvement of Yarik-Sagu-Zhob section of N-50 CPEC western alignment, Rs7,000 million have been allocated in the Public Sector Development Programme out of which Rs610 million have been released.
For construction of 106km Basima-Khuzdar Highway, Rs500 million have been allocated in the present fiscal, he said and added out of which Rs210 million have been released while for construction of black top road Yakmach-Kharan highway Rs2,000 million have been allocated in the PSDP of the ongoing fiscal year and so far Rs1,500 million have been released.
He said for National Highway Development Sector Improvement Programme a total of Rs3,000 million have been allocated and Qila Saifullah-Loralai-Wagum Rud section of N-70 was being rehabilitated under this programme. Moreover, Zhob-Mughalkot section of N-50 was also being rehabilitated under the scheme.
He said Rs250 million have been allocated for rehabilitation and improvement of 120km Quetta-Dhadhar section of N-65 out of which Rs110 million have been released.
He said Rs250 million have been allocated for 96 km Kararo-Wadh section of N-25, out of which Rs 110 million have been released. He said that for widening and strengthening of 32 km section of Rakhi Gajj-Bewata section of N-70, Rs2,000 million have been allocated out of which Rs40 million have been released, while Rs40 million have been released so far.
For construction of 107 km Ziarat More- Kech-Hamai Road and Harnai-Sanjavi road Rs250 million have been earmarked out of which Rs 110 million have been released, he said.
He said that groundbreaking ceremony of Quetta- Zhob (N-50 motorway ) was held recently.
The project links Quetta with Zhob passing through Kuchlak, Muslim Bagh and Qilla Saifullah reducing traveling time between Quetta and Dera Ismail Khan from 12 hours to four hours and uplifting socioeconomic activity for local population particularly local businesses by providing access to minerals and mines and direct access to main markets.
The road will also facilitate speedy transportation of goods from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to sea port of Karachi, he further said.
