PESHAWAR, Jan 09 (APP):The ceremony of formally handing over charge to the newly elected body of Peshawar Press Club was held at the Press Club.
The newly elected cabinet of the Press Club, governing body members, senior journalists, former officials and a large number of esteemed members attended the ceremony.
On this occasion, Press Club President M. Riaz congratulated the newly elected leadership and thanked the esteemed members.
He said that the new leadership of the Press Club will give top priority to protecting the rights, welfare and welfare of its members and solving their professional problems.
He said that we are fully aware of the economic and professional problems and difficulties of the members. Therefore, without wasting time, we have started practical steps in this regard.
Riaz apprised PPC members that a check of Rs. 2 million has been received from Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Afridi for the sports event.
Similarly, the newly elected body will try to secure maximum funds in the form of special grants from the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, obtain original allotment letters for the esteemed members of the Press Club in the Media Enclave, construct a new Press Club equipped with modern facilities, increase the seed money of the Journalists Welfare Endowment Funds, and obtain solar systems for the members of the Press Club and educational scholarships for the children of the members announced in the previous period.
Earlier, former General Secretary of Peshawar Press Club Tayyab Usman handed over the club’s inventory record to the newly elected General Secretary Alamgir Khan.
General Secretary of Peshawar Press Club Alamgir Khan said that after the elections on December 27, the newly elected body has assumed its responsibilities on January 1, 2026.
The stage of formation of committees will be completed in the initial meeting of the governing body.
