New Railway Station of Nankana Sahib to be inaugurated this year: Sh Rasheed

RAWALPINDI, Apr 15 (APP):Minister for Railways, Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed on Monday said a new Nankana Sahib Railway Station would be inaugurated this year, prior to the 550th birth anniversary celebrations of Guru Nanak.

Talking to media persons during his visit to Hassanabdal, Nankana Sahib, the minister said the station, to be named after Baba Guru Nanak, would be inaugurated two days before the 550th birth anniversary celebrations of Baba Guru Nanak and all possible facilities would be ensured for the Sikh Yatrees.

He said Prime Minister Imran Khan would inaugurate Kartarpur Corridor on November 12 and announced that the Sikh pilgrims would be given 50 percent concession on rail ticket from next year.
He said, the government was committed to providing equal rights to minorities of the country.

He said, Imran Khan had conveyed a message of love for Sikh community by announcing opening of Kartarpur corridor.

The minister said, there are many sacred places for the Sikh community in Pakistan and the Sikh pilgrims were being provided all possible facilities during their visit to the country.

He said, “We welcome Sikh pilgrims who are visiting Pakistan for performing their religious obligations including Baisakhi festival.”

He said, the government was making all out efforts to provide maximum facilities to minorities in Pakistan.

To a question, the Sikh pilgrims expressed satisfaction over arrangements made for the Baisakhi festival.

A three-day festivities of Baisakhi festival concluded at Gurdwara Punja Sahib in Hassanabdal on Sunday.
