New programme being launched for cities uplift

LAHORE, Oct 14 (APP):Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Monday said that a new programme “Punjab Cities Programme” was being started to provide necessary facilities to the people living in rural and urban areas of the province.
Presiding over a meeting held to review proposals for implementing the Punjab Municipal Services Programme at his office, he said that an amount of Rs 27 billion had been allocated for this programme.
The chief minister said that cleanliness and sewerage system besides provision of clean drinking water would be improved. However, non-functional water supply and sewerage schemes would be restored through this programme, he said and added that necessary machinery would also be procured to improve the cleanliness system.
