The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) Islamabad has taken action against a suspect for allegedly impersonating a senior government official’s personal staff member on WhatsApp to mislead people and potentially obtain financial benefits through fraud.

ISLAMABAD, Oct 10 (APP):The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) Islamabad has taken action against a suspect for allegedly impersonating a senior government official’s personal staff member on WhatsApp to mislead people and potentially obtain financial benefits through fraud.
An NCCIA official told APP on Saturday that the suspect allegedly used WhatsApp to create a false impression of official authority by posing as a member of the senior official’s personal staff.
The official said the suspect was allegedly attempting to mislead individuals by using the fake identity for possible fraudulent gains.
During the enquiry, the NCCIA team recovered and took into custody mobile phones and other electronic devices allegedly used in the offence.
The official said the action was taken as part of the agency’s efforts to deal with online impersonation and fraudulent activities involving the misuse of official identities.
