ISLAMABAD, Sep 29 (APP): Director General, National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi on Tuesday directed the Multan Circle to speed up action against cyber criminals and give priority to cases involving financial fraud, harassment of women and children and blackmail through social media.
An NCCIA official told that the directions were issued during a meeting chaired by the DG at NCCIA Multan Circle, attended by the Additional Director and heads of all wings.
The Additional Director briefed Rizvi on the circle’s monthly performance, disposal of public complaints, major achievements and administrative and technical challenges.
The DG Rizvi directed officers to deal with cases of financial fraud, online harassment, cyber harassment of women and children and social media blackmail on a priority basis and ensure early arrest of the accused involved in such cases.
Rizvi also asked investigators to improve the quality of investigations and strengthen evidence through digital forensic methods so that cases could be effectively pursued in courts.
He directed officials to treat complainants with respect and ensure merit, transparency and timely relief for citizens approaching the agency.
The DG Rizvi said NCCIA was working round the clock to protect the lives, property and dignity of citizens, adding that no one was above the law.
He said action against cyber criminals would continue without discrimination, with efforts focused on making cyberspace safer for citizens.
