NBF launches book on Iqbal’s vision for Pakistan

National Book Foundation (NBF), under the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, has launched a new book titled “Pakistan Se Iqbalistan Tak”, by renowned author Professor Dr. Muhammad Arif Khan.

The book launch ceremony was held at the Ahmad Faraz Hall of the NBF, with President of Al-Hamd Islamic University Dr. Shakeel Ahmad Roshan presiding over the event.

The author, Professor Dr. Muhammad Arif Khan, attended as the chief guest, while Additional Secretary, Ministry of Finance, Dr. Saad Khan, and Dr. Abdul Mateen Akhunzada were the guests of honour. The event was moderated by Nazia Rehman.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Shakeel highlighted the relevance of Allama Iqbal’s philosophy for Pakistan’s youth and said that although extensive work had been done on Iqbal, the book presents several new dimensions of his thought and ideology, making it a valuable contribution to Iqbal studies.

The speakers also praised Professor Dr. Arif Khan’s scholarly work on Iqbal, saying the book seeks to reconnect the younger generation with the intellectual legacy of Allama Iqbal and the history of the Muslim world through Iqbal’s philosophy. They noted that such efforts are particularly important in the present era.

The speakers further underscored Iqbal’s stature as a universal poet and philosopher, highlighting his enduring influence not only in Pakistan but also in countries such as Iran and Türkiye. They commended the author’s efforts to promote Iqbal’s philosophy by drawing attention to his intellectual and cultural significance in different parts of the Muslim world.

National Book Foundation Secretary Dr. Farhan Riffat thanked the distinguished guests and participants for attending the ceremony.

The event was attended by a large number of writers, scholars, literary enthusiasts and members of civil society from Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
