ISLAMABAD, Nov 24 (APP):The National Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) on Monday said that the nationwide measles–rubella (MR) and polio vaccination campaign is currently in progress across the country.
According to the National EOC, the measles–rubella campaign will continue from 17 to 29 November, covering children across all provinces and regions and during the campaign, 34.5 million children will be administered the measles–rubella vaccine.
The EOC said that in 90 high-risk districts, more than 23.3 million children are being given polio drops this week to strengthen immunity against the virus. Vaccines are being provided at government health facilities, schools, madrassas, and temporary vaccination centres, ensuring maximum accessibility for families.
The National EOC has appealed to parents to ensure their children receive polio drops in the ongoing and all future campaigns, stressing that eliminating polio is a shared national responsibility.
The NEO also urged parents to complete their children’s routine immunization schedules on time alongside the polio vaccine. The National EOC announced that the final nationwide polio campaign of 2025 will be conducted from 15 to 21 December.
