ISLAMABAD, Jan 3 (APP):President Dr Arif Alvi Thursday said national language was a guarantor of unity for any nation and dignified nations always look promoting their national language.
He expressed these views in a briefing given to him by National Language Promotion Department. Federal Minister for National History and Literary Heritage Division Shafqat Mahmood was also present.
He said Urdu was our national, historic and literary asset and all possible efforts should be made for its enforcement at every field.
The president said the modern era demanded command over English language but the national language should not be underestimated at any stage.
He said such a balanced education system should be formulated which was according to the national ambition and also keeping in view the international and literary requirements.
He stressed that language was an identity of any nation, therefore, every Pakistani should play his role for the promotion of Urdu.
