ISLAMABAD, Dec 31 (APP): Secretary General of the National Assembly, Tahir Hussain, retired on Wednesday after completing a distinguished career in public service. The National Assembly Secretariat hosted a farewell ceremony to honor his services.
Over the course of his career in public service, Secretary General of the National Assembly Tahir Hussain played a pivotal role in managing parliamentary affairs, strengthening the legislative process, introducing institutional reforms, and improving administrative governance within the Secretariat.
Known as a capable, dedicated and experienced officer, Secretary General Tahir Hussain discharged his responsibilities with integrity, professional competence and strong administrative skills.
Under his leadership, the National Assembly Secretariat achieved significant progress in key administrative and parliamentary matters, resulting in greater stability and improvement in the institution’s overall performance.
His services will be remembered in the history of Parliament as a positive and distinguished chapter. Advisor on Legislation to the National Assembly, Muhammad Mushtaq, lauded Secretary General Tahir Hussain, describing him as a compassionate, capable and conscientious officer who rendered distinguished service to Parliament.
Muhammad Mushtaq noted that under the leadership of Secretary General Tahir Hussain, officers of the National Assembly gained valuable experience. He said Hussain set a strong, dignified and professional tradition within the Secretariat that would serve as a guiding example for future officers. He conveyed his best wishes for Tahir Hussain’s future health and well-being.
Senior officers and staff of the National Assembly Secretariat commended Secretary General Tahir Hussain for his integrity, devoted service and exemplary contributions, and extended their best wishes on his retirement.
On the occasion, Secretary General Tahir Hussain lauded the political vision and leadership of National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, noting that he was appointed to the Assembly during the Speaker’s tenure and is now retiring under the same leadership.
Secretary General Tahir Hussain conveyed his best wishes to the officers and staff of the National Assembly and expressed gratitude for the support extended to him during his tenure.
