ISLAMABAD, May 11 (APP):Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Khawaja Muhammad Asif Thursday said narrative of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif was becoming strong as majority of people were standing behind the party.
Talking to a private news channel, he said difference of opinion in a political party was a healthy tradition, however there was no division on PML-N’s narrative about the sanctity of vote.
He said if level playing field was ensured, the PML-N would win general elections with the support of the masses.
Khawaja Asif said PML-N leadership was being targeted and cases were being filed against them. It was not first time that the PML-N was facing tough circumstances and facing new cases everyday, he added.
He said it was regrettable that National Accountability Bureau (NAB) issued press release without any evidence against three-time elected prime minister Nawaz Sharif for allegedly transferring US dollars 4.9 billion to India.
It was respect of the law and the constitution and democratic behavior of the former prime minister Nawaz Sharif that despite knowing reality of the cases against him, he was appearing before the courts regularly, he said.
To a question, he said those people who were using slogan of South Punjab province, were never sincere for the province as they never raised the matter in the Parliament and now were playing gimmicks on it.
They quit the PML-N after enjoying five years in the government and had taken development funds, he added.
He said people were well aware and majority of the people was with the PML-N.
