Naqvi commends Pakistan Navy, Coast Guards for foiling major smuggling attempt in Pishukan
ISLAMABAD, Sep 23 (APP):Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Wednesday praised the Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Coast Guards for thwarting a major smuggling attempt in the Pishukan area of Balochistan through a joint operation.
In his statement, the minister appreciated the entire team that took part in the operation and acknowledged their professional performance in preventing the smuggling of a large quantity of non-duty-paid goods.
Mohsin Naqvi said that the Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Coast Guards successfully stopped the smuggling attempt through coordinated action under a joint operation. He noted that effective coordination and cooperation among institutions played a key role in making the operation successful.
The interior minister said that joint operations based on close collaboration between relevant agencies were producing results in the fight against smuggling. He added that the authorities remained active and committed to eliminating the illegal trade.
Mohsin Naqvi stated that smuggling was harmful to the country’s economy and stressed that all concerned institutions were working to curb the menace. He said continued efforts were being made to prevent illegal movement of goods and protect national economic interests.
The minister further said that the government’s policy of zero tolerance against smuggling networks would continue to be implemented strictly.
