NAB recovers record Rs 71 bln from corrupt elements

ISLAMABAD, Sep 2 (APP):National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has recovered a total of record Rs 71 billion from the corrupt elements and deposited in the national exchequer.

This was informed during a meeting held here at NAB headquarters to review last 22 months performance of the bureau.

According to NAB spokesman, the meeting was chaired by Chairman NAB (R) Justice Javed Iqbal.

The meeting noted that no example of such record recovery could be found in the corresponding 22 months, said a press release.

Giving details of the recovery the meeting was told that NAB Sukkur has recovered Rs 10.656 billion; NAB Lahore Rs 31.231 billion; NAB Balochistan Rs 0.949 billion; NAB Karachi Rs 10.861; NAB Rawalpindi Rs 14.653 billion;

NAB Multan Rs 2.5 billion; NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Rs 0.5 billion and NAB Gilgit-Baltistan had recovered Rs 0.014 billion from the corrupt and deposited in the national exchequer.
