NAB Lahore distributes cheques worth Rs 164.879mln

LAHORE, Sep 06 (APP):The National Accountability
Bureau (NAB) Lahore held a cheque-distribution ceremony
at the NAB Offices, here on Thursday.
Director NAB Amjad Majeed Aulakh was the chief guest
and gave away cheques amounting to Rs 164.879 million to
the representatives of different government and private
departments.
Addressing the participants, Director NAB Amjad Majid
said that the process of accountability had been extended
to every provincial and federal organisation. Moreover,
anti-corruption activities had also been paced up which
would help further strengthen the accountability mechanism,
he said.
He said that complaints against private housing societies
regarding illegal sale of plots and other acts of treachery
in housing sector had increased manifold, but NAB was
working diligently to address all such complaints.
Amjad Majeed Aulakh handed over cheques amounting to
Rs 82.95 million to representative of chief secretary
Punjab, official from Lahore Development Authority received
Rs7.64 million cheque, Gujranwala Irrigation Employees
Cooperative Housing Society Rs 3 million cheque, Pakistan
Industrial Development Corporation (PIDC) Rs 20.104 million
cheque, National Fertilizers Marketing Limited Rs 16.48 million
cheque, collector preventive Lahore Rs14.63 million, National
Telecommunication Corporation (NTC) Rs 9.58 million, Bank
Al-Falah Private Limited Rs 2.87 million and cheque worth
Rs 584 million handed over to an official from National Bank
of Pakistan (NBP).
All participants appreciated the efforts made by NAB
Lahore officials in the wake of recovery of looted money
from the corrupt elements.
