ISLAMABAD, Oct 21 (APP): The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Rawalpindi has handed over Rs 75.195 million among 240 affectees and government departments at a ceremony held here on Friday.
Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Inter-faith Harmony Sardar Muhammad Yousaf was the chief guest on the occasion and handed over the cheques among the affectees and concerned government departments.
Addressing the ceremony, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Inter-faith Harmony Sardar Muhammad Yousaf appreciated the efforts of NAB, especially NAB Rawalpindi for actively pursuing the corruption cases and making recoveries of the embezzled amounts.
He highlighted his support for a clean society and efforts made by his Ministry to eliminate corruption in executing the responsibility during Hajj for the last three years.
He said NAB is making all out efforts to recover the looted money from the swindlers. He urged the people to invest only in the government approved banking system and investment companies.
Director General NAB Rawalpindi Zahir Shah reiterated that the NAB will continue to pursue the corrupt element for cleaning the society from the corrupt element under leadership of Chairman NAB Qamar Zaman Chaudary so that Pakistan is made corruption free.
He said NAB strongly believes in zero tolerance policy against corruption. NAB’s anti-corruption campaign is carried widely for awareness and prevention of corruption besides enforcement across the board, he added.
He said NAB hopes that all stakeholders can collaborate to check corruption and corrupt practices before happening.
He said NAB officers and officials under the leadership of Chairman NAB are determined and committed to perform their national duty with absolute objectivity, through professionalism, and unimpeachable integrity and without any leanings for or against anybody.
