ISLAMABAD, Dec 27 (APP): Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has expressed profound grief and sorrow over the passing of the former Finance Minister & Former Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan, Dr. Shamshad Akhtar.
In his condolence message, Ayaz Sadiq paid rich tribute to the invaluable services of the late Shamshad Akhtar, describing her as a highly competent and distinguished professional who rendered remarkable contributions towards strengthening and stabilizing Pakistan’s economy.
Ayaz Sadiq said that during her tenure, including her leadership of the State Bank of Pakistan and other key national assignments, Shamshad Akhtar played a pivotal role in formulating effective economic policies in close coordination with the government.
He said that her professional expertise, economic insight and visionary approach to macroeconomic management will always be remembered.
Ayaz Sadiq expressed heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the bereaved family, saying that he stands shoulder to shoulder with them in this moment of profound grief.
He prayed that Allah Almighty elevate her ranks in Jannat-ul-Firdous, and bestow patience and strength upon the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.
