NA panel seeks Sindh officials’ presence for review of K-IV project progress

The 12th meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Water Resources was held today under the Chairmanship of Ahmad Atteeq Anwer, MNA at Parliament House in Islamabad. 

ISLAMABAD, Aug 05 (APP): The 12th meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Water Resources was held today under the Chairmanship of Ahmad Atteeq Anwer, MNA at Parliament House in Islamabad.
NA panel seeks Sindh officials' presence for review of K-IV project progress
The Chairman, WAPDA, informed the Committee that the portion of the K-IV Project falling within WAPDA’s domain is expected to be completed by 2027. He further stated that the funds required for this component of the project have already been secured.
The Committee directed that, at its next meeting, the Chief Secretary, Government of Sindh, the Secretary, Irrigation Department, Government of Sindh, the CEO of  KW & SC, and the Project Director (PD) of the K-IV Project shall ensure their presence.
After detailed deliberations on “The WAPDA Security Force Bill, 2026” (Government Bill), the Committee directed that a comprehensive comparative study on the proposed legislation be shared with the Committee before its next meeting.
The meeting was attended by MNA’s Shamaila Rana, Mehmood Qadir Khan, Syed Javed Ali Shah Jillani, Mir Munawar Ali Talpur, Shazia Marri, Saba Talpur (on Zoom),  Mian Khan Bugti(on Zoom), Riaz Ul Haq (on Zoom), Mian Muhammad Mueen Watto (Federal Minister for Water Resources) and Rana Ansar (Parliamentary Secretary for Water Resources) besides the officials of the Ministry of Water Resources.
