NA panel on housing expresses concern over land sharing, built up property issues of FGEHA

ISLAMABAD, Jul 30 (APP): The Sub-Committee of the Standing Committee on Housing and Works Wednesday expressed concern over matters related to the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA), including land sharing, built-up property (BUP), and other related issues.
The Director (Land) of FGEHA briefed the sub-committee on pending payments for land acquisition, compensation for built-up properties, reasons for delays in FGEHA housing projects, and other related challenges.
Land sharing and built-up property issues in FGEHA’s ongoing and upcoming schemes in sectors G-14/1, G-15/3, and F-14/F-15 were discussed in detail during the meeting.
The Committee expressed concern over these issues and directed FGEHA to conduct a survey in the mentioned sectors and address the grievances of landowners and BUP claimants on a priority basis.
The Sub-Committee meeting chaired by its convenor Anjum Aqeel Khan, MNA also regretted the challenges FGEHA was facing in executing these housing schemes and assured its full cooperation with the authority in this regard.
The second meeting of the panel was attended by MNAs Mehboob Shah and Ibrar Ahmad.
Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Works Muhammad Ashfaq Ghumman, senior officials of FGEHA including Director General Capt. (Retd.) Muhammad Zafar Iqbal, Chief Engineer, Director Administration, Director Land, Director Technical, Director Finance, Director Coordination, and other officials were also present.
