ISLAMABAD, May 11 (APP):Members of the National Assembly on Monday expressed deep grief over the deaths of family members of political figures and paid tribute to security personnel and others who embraced martyrdom in recent incidents of terrorism and violence.
During the proceedings of the National Assembly, the Speaker informed the House about the deaths of the 22-year-old son of Aijaz Hussain Jakhrani and the 19-year-old daughter of MNA Muhammad Iqbal Khan.
The House offered prayers for the departed souls and expressed sympathy with the bereaved families.
The House also expressed sorrow over the deaths of the brother of MNA Sardar Ghulam Abbas, the father-in-law of MNA Daniyal Aziz, and former MNA Farooq Azam Malik.
Members paid tribute to Lieutenant Colonel Khalid Hussain, who laid down his life during an operation against Fitna al-Khawarij, and former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa MPA Maulana Muhammad Idrees, who was also martyred.
The National Assembly further condemned the terrorist attack at the Bannu Police Station and offered prayers for the police personnel martyred in the incident.
MNA Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri led Fateha and offered collective prayers for all the deceased and martyrs.
