NA body report on Prevention of Electronic Crimes bill presented

ISLAMABAD, Dec 11 (APP): A report of Standing Committee on Information Technology and Telecommunication on the important and much awaited bill, the Prevention of Electronic Crimes 2015 was presented in the National Assembly on Friday.

Chairman Standing Committee Capt ® Muhammad Safdar presented the report of the committee in the House.

Speaking in the House, Muhammad Safdar thanked members of the committee for their support and active participation in formulating this important bill.

He said that the committee finalized the bill after through deliberation and taking on board all stockholders.

Detailed discussion was carried out on every section of the bill.

Even common people and civil society were also given opportunities to give their suggestion, he said, adding advertisements were published in the media to seek views of all stakeholder.

He said all civil and criminal laws were also examined besides studying Australian bill to finalize this bill.

Safdar said that the bill would also be opened for discussion in the House once table adding that further amendments would be incorporated if the parliamentarians suggested.

He said the bill would help prevent cyber crimes and would also contribute to the national security of the Nation.

Meanwhile the NA adopted a resolution to extend the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (Amendment) Ordinance, 2015 for a further period of one hundred and twenty days under proviso to sub-paragraph (ii) of paragraph (a) of clause (2) of Article 89 of the constitution.
