ISLAMABAD, May 31 (APP): Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on Tuesday chaired a meeting of the House Business Advisory Committee in the Parliament House to discuss the agenda for the Budget Session of the National Assembly.
After discussion and taking into account suggestions by
representative of the political parties in the National Assembly, it was decided that general discussion on the Budget will continue from June 6, 2016 to June, 15 2016 and Minister for Finance will wind up the general discussion on the Budget followed by discussion on appropriation in respect of charged expenditure 2016-2017 on June
16, 2016.
It was also decided that the discussion and voting on cut
motions and demand for grants in respect of voted expenditure 2016-2017 would be taken up on 17th and 18th June, 2016.
It was further decided that the consideration and passage of
Finance Bill, 2016 will take place on June 20, 2016 and discussion on supplementary demands for grants and appropriation 2015-2016 in respect of charged and voted expenditure and laying of schedule of authorized expenditure 2016-2017 would take place on 21st June, 2016.
It was also agreed that the sittings of the National Assembly
will be held from Monday to Saturday during the session with timings from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.
The Committee was informed that the question hour and other non-legislative business will remain suspended during the Budget Session.
The meeting was attended by Rana Tanveer Hussain, Minister for Defence Production and Science and Technology, Ch. Muhammad Barjees Tahir, Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan, Sheikh Aftab Ahmed, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs; and MNAs Ch. Muhammad Ashraf, Syed Naveed Qamar, Dr. Shireen Mehrunnisa Mazari,
Sheikh Salahudin and Al-Hajj Shah Jee Gul Afridi.
