Mustafa Kamal visits upgraded PIMS cardiac center, vows free advanced treatment with modern tech

ISLAMABAD, Jul 07 (APP):Federal Minister for National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination Mustafa Kamal visited the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Cardiac Center following the completion of the first phase of its upgradation, emphasizing that the introduction of modern technology would enable patients to receive advanced treatment free of charge, leading to faster recovery.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony, the minister described the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) as the largest hospital in the federal capital, providing healthcare services to a large number of patients from Islamabad and surrounding areas, including Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Minister also focused on the progress to make 28 basic health centers (BHUs) of the federal capital active to reduce burden on big hospitals.
He also emphasized the need to work on provision of basic hygiene necessities, including access to clean drinking water, proper sanitation and others, to help reduce the incidence of disease.
He stressed that most challenges could be overcome if every member of society realized and fulfilled their responsibilities.
He also underlined the importance of a strong local government system to address challenges at the grassroots level before they escalate into major burdens.
