ISLAMABAD, Apr 03 (APP):Founder of the MUSLIM Institute, Sahibzada Sultan Muhammad Ali, has been elected as a member of the Board of Directors of the World Tent Pegging Federation.
This development grants Pakistan an important role in international decision-making within the sport.
A spokesperson for the MUSLIM Institute said that Sahibzada Sultan Muhammad Ali also served as President of the Equestrian Federation of Pakistan from 2022 to 2026. Under his leadership, Pakistan achieved historic success in tent pegging, securing a total of three gold, two silver, and two bronze medals.
During his four-year tenure, Pakistan demonstrated its strength on the global stage. At the 2023 World Cup, Pakistan defeated India, earning the distinction of becoming the second-best team in the world.
Moreover, under his leadership, Pakistan hosted a major international tent pegging event for the first time, with participation from nine countries, helping to project a positive image of the country globally. He also ensured the successful hosting of the 2023 World Cup Qualifiers in Pakistan and played a key role in forming the country’s first-ever women’s team.
In addition, horseback archery competitions were introduced through his efforts, further expanding the scope of equestrian sports in the country.
The spokesperson added that his inclusion in the global federation marks a significant step forward for Pakistan and is expected to elevate the country’s prestige while contributing to the further promotion of tent pegging worldwide.
It is noteworthy that 45 countries are currently members of the International Tent Pegging Federation (ITPF).
